San Clemente Gets a True Taste of Philly

San Clemente Ribbon Cutting ImageWhen the big red ribbon is cut with even bigger scissors, it’s officially official! The San Clemente city council and chamber members were out in full force at the ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of our brand new location in the beautiful beach town of San Clemente (Ocean View Plaza). Mayor Pro Tem, Bob Baker, was even there to present a welcome certificate to our awesome San Clemente franchisees, Michael Yau and his father, Patrick.

When it comes to authentic cheesesteaks, Philly’s Best is the real deal! A big thanks to our new San Clemente neighbors for the very warm welcome. We look forward to becoming a valued member of the community and serving up the best Philly has to offer for many years to come.

Keeping it Real…Philly’s Best Cheesesteaks

Real-Philly-LogoWith every quick-serve restaurant chain in Southern California now selling Philly Cheesesteaks, it is important to know the “real” ones from the imitators.    Just because someone offers grilled meat on a long roll with onions and cheese, it doesn’t make it a real Philly cheesesteak.  In fact, one national chain with locations in southern California serves their version on a french baguette roll?  Are you kidding me?

Native Philadelphians know the key to a good cheesesteak starts with the roll and Philly’s Best Cheesesteaks uses the authentic South Philly hearth-baked roll made by the legendary Amoroso bakery based in the City of Brotherly Love.  The rolls from Philly are made with the homemade Philly ‘wooder’ – that’s water to Southern Californians – which is perfectly suited for making great bread and rolls.  The Amoroso roll is soft, moist and “springy” and cannot be compromised if you are looking for the authentic taste of a Philly Cheesesteak.  So if you’re eating a cheesesteak that is in a roll that has a thick crust and is dry, crunchy or flaky, the cheesesteak sandwich is not authentic.

Philly’s Best Cheesesteaks has been making authentic Philly Cheesesteaks on genuine Amoroso rolls in southern California since 1992 and they do not compromise their ingredients.  All of their cheesesteaks and hoagies begin with Amoroso rolls; if the ones you’re eating aren’t on an Amoroso roll, it is NOT an authentic Philly Cheesesteak.  Get some ‘brotherly love in every bite’ of an authentic Philly’s Best Cheesesteak!
